It was an honour to represent the Mugello Circuit, recently appointed Ambassador of Sports Diplomacy, at Italian Sports Day in the World, which took place yesterday at the Farnesina Palace in Rome.
This year’s edition, entitled “Italy: Land of Enterprise, Sea of Excellence”, focused on the sea, water sports and the related production sectors, also in view of the 2027 America’s Cup, which will be held in Naples.
The event brought together representatives from institutions, sports federations, athletes, businesses and local communities, with the aim of promoting sport as a tool for diplomacy, international promotion and the internationalisation of the Italian national system.
During the ceremony, Minister Antonio Tajani appointed the new Ambassadors of Sports Diplomacy, including Italian athletes from various disciplines, Luna Rossa, represented by CEO Max Sirena, and the Italian Women’s Paralympic Sitting Volleyball Team.
The appointed athletes are Massimiliano Rosolino (swimming), Sara Curtis (swimming), Chiara Pellacani (diving), Dariya Derkach (triple jump), Arianna Bridi (open water swimming), Simone Barlaam (Para swimming), Caterina Banti (sailing), Antonio Squizzato (Para sailing), Alessandra Sensini (windsurfing) and Marta Maggetti (windsurfing).
