During the second round of the Ferrari Challenge Trofeo Pirelli Europe 2026, Ferrari drivers experienced an initiative that combines a passion for motorsport with a concrete and structured vision of environmental sustainability.
Accompanied by Paolo Poli, CEO and Managing Director of Mugello Circuit, drivers Sergio Paulet (Ineco – Reparto Corse RAM), Giacomo Rinaldo (Rossocorsa) and Max Mugelli (CDP - Eureka Competition), together with Andrea Mladosic, Head of Endurance and Corso Pilota, visited the beehives located within the San Donato corner, one of the most iconic sections of the track.
The project, launched in 2024, marked an international milestone, making Mugello the first circuit to host beehives dedicated to pollinating bees. Today, it includes 7 hives and approximately 420,000 bees, confirming a growth path that strengthens the circuit’s commitment to biodiversity protection. An initiative with strong symbolic value, but also a strategic one, considering the essential role bees play in pollination processes and in maintaining natural balance.
A particularly significant aspect that emerged during the visit concerns the bees’ ability to coexist with the circuit environment: despite their proximity to the track, they are not disturbed by the noise of the engines, as their perception is mainly linked to vibrations.
Set within a natural context of great value, with over 900,000 square metres of green areas and 300,000 square metres of woodland, the beehive project is part of the broader environmental strategy of Mugello Circuit, internationally recognised for its sustainability standards.
A tangible example of how innovation, local heritage and sustainability can coexist, helping to shape a responsible model of development within the world of motorsport.
