Mugello Circuit, venue of national and international events of different nature, importance and size, has obtained the ISO 20121 certification, the international standard for the sustainable event management, issued by the system certification TÜV NORD Italia on august 20th , 2020.

To date Mugello Circuit is the first circuit in the world certified according to the sustainable event management system ISO 20121.

The standard applies to the activities related to the events hosted and is evidence of the commitment of Mugello Circuit to implement a responsible and sustainable management system, in addition to the integrated system with the certifications ISO 9001, ISO 14001, EMAS and OHSAS 18001.

Environmental and social impact characteristics have been analysed, also in order to involve and influence all stakeholders (organizers, Federations, customers, employees, suppliers, riders, teams, guests, media and communities) involved in taking on good behaviour during events organized at the circuit facilities.

Sustainable event management includes, but is not limited to, the following aspects:

  • Separate collection of waste and recycling of materials (Circular Economy);
  • Energy efficiency;
  • Biodiversity and the environment;
  • Mobility of workers;
  • Health and safety of workers;
  • Accessibility of persons with disabilities;
  • Fighting food waste;
  • Development of the territory.

Furthermore, Mugello Circuit aims clearly refer in its sustainability policy to the wider 2030 Sustainable Development Goals of the United Nations (Sustainable Development Goals - UN).
