MotoGP is synonymous with speed, adrenaline, great spectacle on and off the track. Due to the presence of KiSS Mugello - Keep It Shiny and Sustainable, the environmental and social sustainability programme of the Italian Grand Prix, which was created and instituted at Mugello Circuit in 2013, the event aims at becoming
increasingly sustainable. Among other initiatives promoted during the Oakley Italian Grand Prix, the collection of surplus food to fight food waste, in cooperation with Banco Alimentare, proved to be one of the highlights of the KiSS Mugello programme, which was held over the weekend of May 27 th -29 th. The collection and donation of surplus food took place on Saturday, May 28 th and Sunday, May 29 th , and it involved multiple Teams within the paddock, the MotoGP VIP Village™, the FIM hospitality, and Mugello Circuit’s hospitality and restaurant.

This initiative took place thanks to the non-profit organization Associazione Banco Alimentare Toscana and KiSS Mugello’s staff, who coordinated all of the activities.
Altogether around 2,500 meals were collected, and then, they were donated to Villaggio San Francesco in Scarperia e San Piero (Fi) and to Caritas in Florence, which are organisations that cooperate with Banco Alimentare Toscana and take in people in need from the area. The KiSS Mugello programme is promoted by Mugello Circuit, FIM (Fédération Internationale de Motocyclisme), Dorna and IRTA (International Road Racing Teams Association). Since 2015, the KiSS Mugello programme has been coordinated by Right Hub, a company specialised in social and environmental sustainability projects related to events.
